Garmin is the top of the line for a GPS however Tom Tom is not a bad choice either. It all depends on what you are looking for in a GPS and what your budget is.Tom Tom now has two models to choose from one is low end the other a little more high end (i.e.) One has more memory and more options all depends on what you need.

Life On Gps Units As Garmin 550?

Posted by: Chris - GPS Mania In: Garmin GPS

Other than the database expiring, it should last you quite a while.
Maybe like 5-10 years.
I still have customers that have GPS 196’s .. those are like 9 years old. :-P

Handheld Gps For Bicyclist Question?

Posted by: Chris - GPS Mania In: Garmin GPS

I am looking to buy a handheld GPS unit, and it needs to be a model that can be mounted on a bicycle. The bike is a road bike, but I want to make sure the GPS holder is secure and will not let the GPS be damaged. I would prefer a Garmin GPS (particularly the Nuvi) because the screen is larger. Do you have any suggestions where I can find a mount or what would be the best one to use? Thanks!

What’s The Best Car Gps For A Beginning Driver?

Posted by: Chris - GPS Mania In: Garmin GPS

I get my license in two weeks and I’m looking for a GPS system.
I looked around the Garmin and TomTom sites very briefly but I’d like to get some opinions first.
I’d like to keep it for as long as possible so I could use it both locally and cross-country.
Also, of course, I’m looking for the lowest price possible.
Any recommendations?
Thank you!
