GPS Review for Garmin, Magellan, and Tomtom

is there a way to turn off the voice directions and have just the map and text? i’m an emt and would be using it for work in the ambulance and the voice directions might be sort of annoying for patients in the back and also for my partner when sitting in the front seat. these gps systems are amazing, i hate using the thomas guide to look up hospitals and stuff. especially when it’s a long distance transport, so frustrating.

Just curious how well the GPS systems work on Cell phones, and on the new iPhone as i was very close in getting the iPhone because of the GPS, but ended up buying a Garmin Nuvi instead.
But may get the iPhone down the road, and sell the Garmin – which works awesome and i love it. But if i can get the same via iPhone (plus the other bells and whistles) or Cell phone then i might do that instead.

I have heard Garmin makes really nice GPS systems but some say tom tom isnt bad however others say Sony is the best. Which are the best?

I got my gps 2 weeks ago for my birthday. It was bought in cash & my bf lost the receipt. The sound does not work. I called Garmin but since they have no proof of purchase nothing can be done. I don’t know what to do. It is also registered in someone else’s name so unless they get in touch with those people im an screwed from every direction.
Suggestions on what to do? I would really like to have a gps with sound. Should I sell it or what? Any ideas?
