I would like to buy a Tomtom GPS but I can’t really tell the differences between the models. I’ve been interested in the Tomtom One 3rd edition, but I can’t tell if it has a Favorite Destination feature where I can save commonly used addresses. Does anyone know the feature set on the 3rd ed? Do you have recommendations for other editions?
Also, I don’t want to spend more than $150 (Amazon/ Ebay prices).

Please please please do not go with a TomTom. I worked in the car audio section of best buy for almost a year, I had them come back the most out of all the GPS’s. Honestly, I have seen more problems with them, then any other gps Best Buy sold. Things like freezing, deleting maps, not showing correct directions, etc. I have a Garmin 205 GPS, before that I had the Garmin C330. Even my car electronic installers all had GPS, we wouldn’t recommend any other brand just because their are so many issues with them. (The funny thing to is that Best Buy isn’t on commision so we honestly do not care which one you buy, we are honestly saving you a trip to the store again with issues) Also with Tom Tom’s there maps are horrible they have a gray screen to them with white, it is horrible to see, and look at. The user set up is difficult to use.
The tom tom does have the save commonly used address feature its called favorites.
If you are looking at the tom tom 3rd edition. The comparable model is the garmin nuvi 200 or the garmin nuvi 205.
The only differences is that…
TomTom 3rd edition – has canada on it.
nuvi 200 – no canada 2008 maps on it
nuvi 205 – interface is set up nicer, no canada, and has 2009 maps on it.
honestly you may end up spending at most 50 dollars more on it, but trust me you will have it for a long time. i would still have my garmin streetpilot c330, but the garmin nuvi 205 came in red, and it matched the interior of my car!
