I have a Magellan 3225 that came with a car cigarette lighter adapter.
I’m confused as to how to get the power adapter to power the gps unit. When I plug the cigarette lighter adapter into the cigarette lighter, nothing happens. (On my 1998 Toyota Carolla)
On my other car, a 2003 Highlander, there are two outlets.
One is the cigarette lighter and the other is a power outlet.
When I plug the adapter into the power outlet, it works.
So on my SUV, I just plug the gps unit into the designated power outlet.
So how do I get the cigarette adapter to power my gps unit on my carolla?

I just bought my dad a TomTom One (3rd Edition) for christmas, and have been reading mixed reviews on the GPS device, just wondering if any of you have a TomTom and what you think about it in comparison to a Magellan or Garmin.. thanks for the answers!
